Introducing Steph Mitchell
Steph Mitchell works full-time as Lead Teacher for Teaching and Learning, a responsibility
recently given for her ‘Outstanding’ Teacher status in the English department of a large Academy
in the North West . She has taken on a number of roles during her career so far including: Assistant
Head of English, PGCE and NQT mentor.
Steph believes fully in Cooperative learning so much so that she has driven her own professional development in
attending training in the US and being fully committed to the training involved under the T2T/KaganUK
umbrella in particular: training in the Kagan in-School Trainer (certified in May 2013) which has
subsequently involved regularly and effectively training her colleagues, and further professional
development training as a T2TUK Associate Trainer as from that date.
A recent comment on her capabilities as a presenter for the company was:
‘Your organisation and delivery was great, and I know that colleagues felt that there was an authenticity to what
they heard because you are teaching every day using what you were introducing to us’.
This is Steph’s strength – giving credibility to all workshop participants.
Her enjoyment and enthusiasm for the use of the structures is palpable.
Currently her continuing commitment to Teaching and Learning is proven in her undertaking further professional development with the National College.
“Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it’s the only thing.”
